What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind
Another two bit politician peddling lies
Another three ring circus society
What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that's better than you
Another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth
Another prophet in an Armani suit
What this world needs is a Savior who will rescue
A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love them in their time of need
A Savior who will rescue
A Spirit who will lead
A Father who will love
That's what this world needs
What this world needs is for us to care more about the inside than the outside
Have we become so blind that we can't see
God's gotta change her heart before He changes her shirt
What this world needs is for us to stop hiding behind our relevance
Blending in so well that people can't see the difference
And it's the difference that sets the world free
Jesus is our Savior, that's what this world needs
Father's arms around you, that's what this world needs
That's what this world needs
Pretty good song right? There's also a spoken part in the song. A few different kids say somethings that this world doesn't need, and basically call Christians out on their common mistakes on how we treat each other and others. Here's the spoken part.
People aren't confused by the gospel,
They're confused by us.
Jesus is the only way to God,
But we are not the only way to Jesus.
This world doesn't need
My tie, my hoodie,
My denomination, or my translation of the Bible,
They just need Jesus.
We can be passionate about what we believe,
But we can't strap ourselves to the gospels.
Because we're slowing it down
Jesus is going to save the world,
But maybe the best thing we can do
Is just get out of the way.
There are so many people out there, and especially in my life, that need to listen to this song. I stating what they believe and sticking to it. That's their belief and I'm not out to change that. I just wish we would stop looking for something wrong about everything in someone who doesn't believe the same thing we do.
I am so tired of the ignorance of people who can not appreciate a view of something in a different way. Sometimes I really feel it's hypocritical at times. If you believe the word is alive and God makes his words personal to everyone, then why can't certain passages have multiple lessons that we can learn from them.
I feel as long as the message is uplifting to someone's relationship with Christ and goes with the message or sermon, then what's so wrong with that? I just get so fed up with people who think their version of Christianity is the only way, and are constantly throwing slander at others who view things differently. It's even worse when it's people who have been conditioned and brainwashed to think like those around them.
I'm so sick of people just reiterating what they hear and believing it. If you just take a little time to think about it I wouldn't care if you changed your mind on the view. I just wish people would think and stop agreeing with whatever someone else thinks.
